About Where Was It?

The game

Where Was It? is a daily geography game for pop culture fans. Each day brings five clues about films, series, books, music and anime; you pin the real place behind each one on a globe, and the closer you land, the more you score.

Where the clues come from

Candidate places are gathered from Wikidata, the free knowledge base behind Wikipedia: filming locations, settings of novels and series, where bands formed, where artists were born. Every clue is then written and checked by hand, and each day mixes categories and parts of the world.
